Orsay Museum Paris

Orsay Museum

I was disappointed by Versailles.  The Musee d’Orsay was closed because of a strike by the guards so the grand opening of the “new museum” didn’t happen.  That was a real disappointment.  Going to the Moulin Rouge was fun, even though we had to wait for 45 minutes to get into the show.

The Restaurant ‘FL’ Paris, amazing and very French…

Restaurant 'FL' ParisThe restaurant ‘FL’ was fantastic. The food was absolutely amazing and the restaurant was fresh, clean and modern, yet very French! VERY impressed and happy to pay the bill – which was well priced for what we ate and drank !

Bateaux-Mouches Paris

Bateaux-Mouches

Recommend the Bateaux Mouches night boat tour and seeing the sights at night.  Very relaxing and pretty.  Food was good too.

Louvre Pyramide in Paris

Louvre Pyramide in Paris

1- The metro iPhone app was very useful in providing easy routes and congestion updates.
2- Reserve a time for the Eiffel Tower to avoid the long lines.
3- If you only have one day for the Louvre then plan out what you want to see the most and go from there.
4- Take a dinner cruise. Romantic and pretty.

The Lido show is not worth it !

Staying in Paris early in July, we decided to book a show at the Lido Cabaret. The Lido show is not worth it ! Don’t waste your money on it !

24 Hours Trip in Paris

Opera House Paris

Opera House Paris

We arrived at Gare du Nord via Eurostar and chosed to walk to our hotel, the Gaillon Opera. We must admit it was a quite long way to the hotel but weather was so warm and sunny… Great welcome, perfect location and very quiet place. We went to Paris for a one night stay as we had a show at the cabaret La Belle Epoque nearby the hotel which is very convenient. We also walked all around to the Louvre museum, the Tuileries Garden, Galeries Lafayette deparment store, Opera house, stock exchange and Grevin museum. Juste a great time during 24 hours !

The A Hotel

Hotel Le A in ParisWhat a refreshing experience to stay at The A Hotel. A small property on Rue d’Artois which provides the most amazing and attentive service we ever had in a Paris Hotel. All the staff were helpfull and trying to accomodate our every whims.

The place is beautiful, rooms are large and very functional as are the bathrooms. Art is everywhere and the general ambience is that of a home.

The location is a plus as well, just off the Champs Elysees, walking distance to quite a few Michelin stars restaurant and not far from a lot of good shopping.

Overall a great experience which I recommend to all visitors in Paris.

Advices for Paris Museum Passes

Louvre Museum Paris

Louvre Museum

If booking Paris museum passes in UK, avoid the official website. It is malfunctional and misleading: a disgrace given museum facilities of the quality found in Paris. Also, be a little sceptical about advice given by attendants etc in public places. It is more than likely to be carelessly delivered and inaccurate. Paris is a wonderful place but it ain’t too straight by London standards!
