Opera House Paris
We arrived at Gare du Nord via Eurostar and chosed to walk to our hotel, the Gaillon Opera. We must admit it was a quite long way to the hotel but weather was so warm and sunny… Great welcome, perfect location and very quiet place. We went to Paris for a one night stay as we had a show at the cabaret La Belle Epoque nearby the hotel which is very convenient. We also walked all around to the Louvre museum, the Tuileries Garden, Galeries Lafayette deparment store, Opera house, stock exchange and Grevin museum. Juste a great time during 24 hours !
The A Hotel

What a refreshing experience to stay at The A Hotel. A small property on Rue d’Artois which provides the most amazing and attentive service we ever had in a Paris Hotel. All the staff were helpfull and trying to accomodate our every whims.
The place is beautiful, rooms are large and very functional as are the bathrooms. Art is everywhere and the general ambience is that of a home.
The location is a plus as well, just off the Champs Elysees, walking distance to quite a few Michelin stars restaurant and not far from a lot of good shopping.
Overall a great experience which I recommend to all visitors in Paris.

Chocolate bar at hotel du Cadran

I stayed at the Hotel du Cadran in the 7th district of Paris, close to the Eiffel tower in rue du Champ de Mars. I loved this hotel and would like to thank Carole who was so friendly and helpful.
Anyway, I just want to share with you something quite exceptional.
The hotel has a chocolate bar with all kinds of home made chocolates by a chocolate maker named Christophe Roussel. They also have macarrons and marshmallows.
I have tasted their peppermint chocolates and mint marshmallows. So great ! I eat them in the lounge with a hot chocolate and bought a box of mix to take back home.

Christmas at the Cristal Champs Elysees Hotel

For Christmas, we decided to go to Paris and have booked at the Cristal Champs Elysees hotel where we stayed 4 nights.
The Hotel is very nice and boasts a contemporary design. It is very clean and most of all the staff is very helpul, professional and assist you all the way.
It is highly central to the most prominent avenue in Paris, i.e. Champs Elysee. It is close to all amenities, i.e. restaurants, city highlights, designer shops etc.
We will definetely recommend it as it is good value for money.

Hotel Athénée – Sleep in a small Opera

This month, I had the pleasure to visit a newly hotel in Paris which opened its doors early in September : The Athénée. Inspired by the musical neighborhood (Olympia music hall, Opéra Garnier, Opéra Comique), the famous designer Jacques Garcia has signed the entire decoration of the hotel and it appears to be already a success.
The hotel looks like a small opera with scarlet colors, velvet, sumptuous materials, marble, mirors, columns,…
All 30 rooms are designed around themes of 4 masterpieces : Faust, Aida, The Traviata and Don Giovanni. I could note that a particular attention was given to details and despite an atmosphere of the 19th Century, guests can enjoy modern technologies : flat screen LED TV with international channels, free wifi access, individual air-conditioning,…
According to the first reviews I could find on the web, the service is quite perfect and the staff very helpful. Of course it is what you are supposed to expect from a 4 star hotel but so many hotels don’t know what service means.
