In just a few days into the New Year 2013, crowds of people from all over the world will gather in the heart of Paris for its infamous Soldes d’Hiver, or Winter Sales 2013. The winter sales this year begin on Wednesday, 9 January 2013 and goes on for 5 weeks, ending on 12 February 2013. During this period, all manner of businesses – luxury boutiques, specialty shops, big department stores – participate in serious price slashing of different degrees. Some stores start reductions at 30% off, others are even bolder with a 70% discount off retail prices!
Autumn slowly gives way to winter in Paris as days grow shorter and temperatures drop. It’s December, the last month of the year 2012. Christmas is near and Parisians are hearty despite being bundled up in thick coats, warm boots, hats and scarves.
This is 3rd time I went to Paris. While I love revisiting all the usual sites, this time I’m enjoyed to shopping. Paris is shopping PARADISE!!

Le Bon Marché standing on the left bank of Paris is not the most famous department store in Paris. Anyway, it is the one I prefer.
